Before this year ends I just want to make a recap of what I lived in the 2015 Bon Appétit Chicago Gourmet event. First I want to thank the media team which were amazing and made the coverage process smooth and easy for all of us bloggers, cheers to that!
What is Chicago Gourmet? (As described in Chicago Gourmet Facebook page)
Produced by the Illinois Restaurant Association, title sponsor Bon Appétit magazine and presenting sponsor Southern Wine & Spirits of Illinois, Chicago Gourmet is a premier experience that celebrates Chicago’s world-class culinary community.
Chicago Gourmet was created by the Illinois Restaurant Association to celebrate and honor both Chicago’s culinary achievements and the creative vision of the chefs, master sommeliers, winemakers and beer experts who participate. It aims to spotlight the city as an international culinary destination via its unparalleled epicurean talent.
I was a first timer there so, how was my experience?
To begin, I can’t wait for next 2016’s event! This year I was only able to be there on Saturday right after running the Chicago Half Marathon but I’m sure the rest of the days were as amazing as the day I was there.
As attendee, the event is an awesome place to go and enjoy a wide variety of creations by the most renowned chefs of the city. There are seminars, talks, demonstrations, wine, wine, food, food and more food!
I was amazed by the Chef Louie Alexakis and his greek tacos:
And by Sara Gasbarra and her earthy spices:
As well as almost all of the exhibitors!
This year’s recap video is outstanding I must say, most of all because I’m in it! LOL (Min 2:32). Check it out so have a better picture of what to expect while you’re there next year!
Not its time to mark your calendar! Chicago Gourmet will take place September 23-25 next year and it promises to be a “fun weekend of discovering new favorites chefs, restaurants, wine and spirits”.
See you there!
